THE STORY BEHIND LITTLE ITALY PIZZA - A MICHIGAN TRADITION

Mike Mannino spent nearly 50 years building Little Italy into a staple for families across Metro Detroit. When I purchased the pizzeria, my goal was to continue his legacy while introducing even more families to the joy of our fresh, oven-baked pizza. As someone who grew up right here in Michigan, owning a pizzeria has always been my dream, and with the help of friends, family, and this incredible community, that dream became a reality.

Pizza is more than just food, it’s how we bring people together.

Whether you’re gathering for a Friday night dinner, hosting a birthday party, or just craving something comforting, we make every pie with the same care we would for our own family. I’m deeply grateful to those who helped make this journey possible: my loved ones, our team, and every customer who’s walked through our doors or called in for delivery. Since the day my son AJ was born, my drive has only grown stronger. Pizza is his favorite food, and every day I call to show him what we’re making in the kitchen. As the face of Little Italy, he reminds me why we do this: to serve great pizza to great families, one slice at a time. Pizza is the ultimate family meal, and it’s incredibly meaningful to me to make Little Italy a place families enjoy, just like mine does. There are so many people who helped make this dream of mine come true: Friends, Co-Workers, Employees, and of course my Family.
